Book Collecting and More

Metro Columbus supported the nationwide “Make a Difference Day” by attending the Children’s Services of Ohio convention in Worthington, Ohio,  in 2013 and 2014.   Chapter members gave over 600 NEW books to the counselors for the foster children in their care.  Because of the generosity of contributors, these children can take more than the clothes on their backs when they must move to another home.  These children have suffered adversity in ways most of us have never known....

Gala Update

The Assistance League of Metro Columbus Restoring Hope Gala was held Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at the Fawcett Event Center on Olentangy Road, Columbus.   The event began with hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction, followed by dinner and entertainment by Park Avenue, a quartet of the Singing Buckeyes.  The evening capped with a live auction and drawings for the raffle prizes of a 55″ LED Sharp television with Roku, $200 cash, and a Pebble smart watch.   Money raised at this...
